Doing a giveaway is a fun way to build some great value for the readers of your real estate blog and a cool way to stay in touch with your SOI.  When you first started your blog, I hope you contacted your sphere of influence to let them know you entered the blogosphere (world of blogging).  If you haven’t yet, take a few minutes to write up a short, to the point email, letting your SOI know that you now have a real estate blog.  Another good idea is posting it on your facebook wall with a link to your blog site.Now, that your SOI knows you are blogging, doing a competition is a fun way to get some interaction.  Here are a few ideas

1. First 5 people to ask you a real estate related question via your blog get tickets (movie / concert / sporting event)
2. Encourage your SOI to link to your blog marketing site on the Facebook page, and those who do it will be entered into a drawing for Best Buy gift card (or another store of your choice).
3. First 50 subscribers to your blog feed entered into a drawing for a new fly fishing pole (that’s what I want.  Let me know if you do a drawing and I’ll subscribe :]
4. Do a raffle from all the names of those who have commented on your blog posts at least twice in the last two weeks.

These are some fun ways to encourage people to start interacting with you on your blog.  One of the biggest upsides to having a blog rather than a traditional website is interaction!  The more interaction you are able to have, the more people are able to get to really know you and your business.  Your blog is such a powerful way for you to demonstrate your knowledge and professionalism.  Through because your blog and other social media profiles have such a wide crowd, it’s easy for those things to spread.  Plus, everyone likes wining free stuff!If you liked the ideas below or would like to add some of your own, leave it in a comment!
